This article will highlight some of our favourite Jamie Foxx movies that are currently available on Netflix, although given the extraordinary talent of this Hollywood actor it was hard to make the choice.

Project Power (2020)

Project Power is an action-packed film that revolves around the discovery that a new drug has been developed, giving people temporary superpowers for five minutes at a time.

The film stars Jamie Foxx alongside Joseph Gordon Levitt and Dominique Fishback as three people who are trying to work out what’s happening with this strange new drug.

Django Unchained (2012)

In Django Unchained, Jamie Foxx stars in the title role of Django Freeman, a slave who is freed by Dr King Schultz (Christoph Waltz), a German bounty hunter seeking to bring down the evil plantation owner Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio).

It’s one of Quentin Tarantino’s best films, and it’s available now on Netflix.

Law Abiding Citizen (2009)

In the film Law Abiding Citizen, Jamie Foxx is a prosecutor named Nick Rice who has to deal with a very angry man named Clyde Shelton (Gerard Butler), who is seeking revenge for his wife and daughter’s deaths.

The film takes place in Philadelphia, where there have been many murders related to gang violence over time. It’s a great thriller to watch and is available now on Netflix.

The Soloist (2009)

In The Soloist, Jamie portrays Nathaniel Ayers, a homeless man with schizophrenia but also an extremely talented musician who becomes friends with L.A. Times columnist Steve Lopez (Robert Downey Jr.).

The film follows their friendship and how Nathaniel’s life changes after being featured in the newspaper. It’s a great and inspiring movie, and it’s available now on Netflix.

Ali (2001)

Ali is one of the best biopics ever made. The movie stars Will Smith as Muhammad Ali and Jamie Foxx as his cornerman Drew “Bundini” Brown, who was instrumental in helping him win many fights throughout their career together.

It’s a great movie and one that everyone should watch at least once during their lifetime.

Dreamgirls (2006)

Jamie stars as Curtis Taylor Jr., the founder of DreamWorks Records. This musical drama was inspired by the story of Diana Ross and The Supremes, who rose to fame as singers but were manipulated by him along the way. The film co-stars Eddie Murphey, Beyoncé Knowles and Jennifer Hudson.

Ray (2004)

In Ray, Jamie is legendary musician Ray Charles, who struggles with drug addiction while trying to make it big time in the music industry. The movie also stars Kerry Washington as his wife, Della Bea Robinson and Regina King as Margie Hendricks, one of the backup singers in his band. It’s an incredible movie and one that is definitely worth watching if you’re a fan of Jamie Foxx or Ray Charles.

Collateral (2004)

Jamie Foxx plays taxi driver Max Durocher in this thriller about a hitman named Vincent who hires him to drive him to each of his marks. The film co-stars Tom Cruise as Vincent and Jada Pinkett Smith as Annie, the woman Max falls for.

It’s an intense movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat!

The Kingdom (2007)

Jamie is agent Ronald Fleury in this action thriller about an elite team of American FBI agents who are sent to Saudi Arabia to investigate the bombing of an American housing compound. The film co-stars Chris Cooper, Jennifer Garner, and Jason Bateman. It’s a great movie.

Horrible Bosses (2011)

Nick, Dale and Kurt are friends with especially one thing in common: they have really horrible bosses! When they’ve had enough and can’t take any more, they decide to kill their bosses. For this, they hire Foxx as a “murder consultant” to help them achieve their goal. It’s a hilarious movie if you’re looking for a good laugh.

Valentine’s Day (2010)

Jamie Foxx is Kelvin Moore, a man who does not like to celebrate Valentine’s Day. He completely despises the 14th of February and thinks that the day does not deserve to be a holiday. The film has a cast of star actors: Julia Roberts, Jessica Biel, Bradley Cooper, Ashton Kutcher, Queen Latifah, and Jennifer Garner. It’s a great movie that will keep you entertained!

Miami Vice (2006)

Foxx plays Detective Ricardo Tubbs in this crime drama about two Miami-Dade Police Department detectives who go undercover to infiltrate the drug trade and bring down kingpin Armando Armas (John Ortiz). The movie also stars Colin Farrell as James “Sonny” Crockett. It’s a great movie!

Dad Stop Embarrassing Me! (2021)

The award-winning actor Jamie Foxx and Jim Patterson created this sitcom for Netflix. Foxx plays multiple hilarious parts, but mainly the part of a single dad and cosmetics company owner whose teenage daughter comes to live with him after her mother dies, and how it is difficult for him to connect with her. The TV series aired for 1 season with 8 episodes.

Future plans for Foxx

Day Shift. Produced by Shaun Redick, Jason Spitz, Chad Stahelski and Yvette Yates Redick, screenplay by Tyler Tice and Shay Hatten, starring Jamie Foxx along with Snoop Dog, Dave Franco and Steve Howey. Day Shift is an action-packed comedy about a blue-collar, hard-working dad (Jamie Foxx) who only wants to provide the best life for his smart, brilliant 8-year-old daughter. But his humble pool cleaning job in the San Fernando Valley is just a front for his real source of income, which is hunting and killing vampires. The film will be released on the big screen in 2022.
