Can I share PlayStation Plus with a friend?

Based on the official conditions we reviewed, no. Console sharing only covers whoever physically uses the console set as primary; Sony states you cannot share your subscription with a friend on their own console.

What is the primary console on PlayStation?

It is the console where you enable Console Sharing and Offline Play (PS5) or activate it as your primary PS4. Whoever uses that console can access some of your subscription benefits, but only one primary console can be active at a time.

Why doesn't this page offer a Together Price group?

Because the official terms we reviewed do not set out a plan designed for sharing the subscription with people outside the household. The page remains available as a reference on plans and sharing rules.

PlayStation Plus: plans, benefits, and sharing rules

PlayStation Plus is Sony's subscription for online multiplayer, monthly games, and the Extra and Premium catalogs. Here is what console sharing covers and what the official conditions do not allow.

Public sharing of PlayStation Plus isn't available

Based on the official conditions we reviewed, the subscription is personal. Console Sharing and Offline Play on PS5 and activating a primary PS4 let whoever physically uses that console enjoy some benefits, but Sony states you cannot share your subscription with a friend on their own console. This page therefore offers no Together Price groups or shares.

PlayStation Plus tiers available in the US

PlayStation Plus has three tiers: Essential (online multiplayer and monthly games), Extra (adds a games catalog), and Premium (adds classics, game trials, and streaming where available). Official prices in dollars are published on the PlayStation Store and can change, so check the store for the current amount.

What console sharing does and does not cover

On PS5 you enable Console Sharing and Offline Play on a single console; on PS4 you activate the console as your primary PS4. Anyone using that console can play online and access catalog games tied to your subscription. What cannot be shared is access from someone else's console: Sony states you cannot share the subscription with a friend on their console, and only one primary console can be active at a time. Account credentials always stay personal.
