Does HBO Max Have A Student Discount?

Launched in May 2020, HBO Max might not be the most popular or well-known streaming service out there, but it can be well worth it.

HBO Max offers its subscribers access to all of HBO’s TV shows, like Game of Thrones, Chernobyl, Sex and the City, and many more!

This article will show you the difference between the two HBO plans if you can use an HBO Max student discount, and how to save money on your streaming services!

In fact, you can save up to 66% on the cost of HBO Max on Together Price, even without the student discount. Read on and find out!

HBO vs HBO Max

Get HBO Max and you'll have access to all HBO television series, plus so much more!

What’s the difference between HBO and HBO Max? HBO is a renowned cable channel that has hosted a wealth of gripping and entertaining TV shows.

Now, the American TV channel has instated its own streaming platform, HBO Max, which offers on-demand content and perks like access to the past 100 years of Warner Brothers Films.

This means the entire Harry Potter saga is at your fingertips - movie marathon incoming!

How much is HBO Max?

Get HBO Max at a reduced price on Together Price and save as if you had an HBO Max student discount!

To subscribe to HBO Max, you can choose between two options: HBO Max standard and HBO Max ad-free.

HBO Max Standard is priced at $9.99/month. This is the cheaper option but comes with its restrictions. You have to watch the commercial breaks, and there is no available option to download your content offline; you also can’t stream shows in high 4K resolution, which becomes available with the more expensive option. However, you still get access to the host of HBO TV shows and exclusive content.

With the HBO Max Ad-free option, you pay $14.99/month. While this is obviously more expensive, you could argue it’s well worth the price. You get ad-free streaming, a downloadable option so you can watch shows offline, and you can also stream in high 4K resolution for a crisp watching experience.

Something to note is that HBO Max also does not offer a free trial as of yet, but there are still ways to save money on your HBO subscription - stay tuned.

What about the HBO Max student discount?

There is no HBO Max student discount. But on Together Price you can still get it cheap even without student discounts!

In the past, HBO Max did offer a student discount for those of its subscribers who were College students and needed to save a bit of money. As of 2022, however, there is no current option for a discounted monthly rate if you want to access HBO’s exclusive content.

A student subscription is, therefore, the same price as a normal HBO Max subscription - $9.99/month or $14.99/month if you go with the ad-free option.

How do I save money on my HBO Max subscription?

There is currently no HBO max student discount available, but there are ways you can still save money besides HBO Max for free.

Just because there are no longer student discounts available for HBO Max doesn’t mean you have to fork out a lot of money to pay for your streaming platform.

There are still a number of ways to save cash on the HBO Max plan of your choosing:

Pay for a yearly plan rather than using monthly payments:

If you choose to subscribe to HBO Max for the year, you can save a fair amount of money. If you go with HBO Max with ads, you will be paying $99.9/year, which could save you $20 over a year. If you subscribe to the ad-free option, you will pay $149.99/year, which will work out to around $30 cheaper than monthly payments for a year.

Watch out for HBO Max deals:

Subscription services are often putting out discounts for their users; it would be worth keeping your eyes peeled to see if you can get a discounted price in the future. It’s likely that an HBO student discount will come around again!

HBO Max promo code:

By digging around on the internet, you might be able to find an HBO Max promo code for you to use to reduce the cost of the subscription.

Change your payment method:

With certain types of credit cards, you might be able to get Cashback on your payments; how this works is different for different cards, and so you would need to look up the Cashback options available with your credit card. However, you might be able to get a certain percentage of money back on your subscription if applicable.

Share your account:

While HBO does not currently offer the option to save using a Family plan, you can still share your subscription using Together Price.

This secure, easy and new network lets you share your HBO Max account with 2 other people in your friend group or household. You can watch HBO Max on 3 devices simultaneously and create up to 5 profiles.

By signing up to Together Price, you’ll be accessing an ad-free experience for only $4.99/month.
