When the Chinese consul’s daughter is kidnapped by the crime lord in Los Angeles, Detective Lee flies out to solve the case and continue his pursuit of the boss.
To avoid an international diplomatic incident, Detective Lee is paired off to an LAPD Detective James Carter.
The film is packed with action, spectacular stunts and comedy. The film has two sequels: Rush Hour 2 in 2001 and Rush Hour 3 in 2007.
The Foreigner is a bit different from other usually humorous and action-packed Jackie Chan films.
Ngoc Minh Quan, a widower and former special ops guerrilla fighter recruited by US special forces in Vietnam, now runs a Chinese restaurant in London with business partner Lam and daughter Fan. When Ngoc’s daughter is killed in a terrorist bombing claimed by the Authentic IRA group, Quan starts going to Scotland Yard every day to see if they have new leads on the bombers.
As he is more of a hindrance to the police, he is sent away. That’s when Quan takes matters into his own hands and targets the Northern Ireland deputy First Minister Liam Hennessy, a former IRA leader. Quan goes to Belfast to investigate on his own and avenge his daughter’s murder. The film is based on the Stephen Leather novel The Chinaman.
This remake of the original 1956 film with David Niven and Cantinflas, although loosely based on the novel by Jules Verne, stars Steve Coogan and Jackie Chan.
After managing to rob the Bank of England, Lau Xing takes shelter in Phileas Fogg’s house. When found, he fakes his name and says he is called “Passport…too”. Fogg incorrectly hears “Passepartout” and hires him as a valet.
Fogg is very passionate about science and technology, and after being humiliated by Baron Kelvin, the Minister of Science at the Royal Academy of Science, Fogg bets that he will travel around the world in only 80 days. The reward for winning the wager is the Baron’s position as Minister of Science. Obviously, the Baron will do all he can to throw a wrench into Fogg’s plans, so he hires the corrupt Inspector Fix to follow them.
Passpartout and Fogg travel to Paris as their first stop in their worldwide journey back home as winners.
Kung Fu Panda is an animated feature film by Dreamworks Animation.
Po is an overweight panda that works in his father’s noodle shop and is a kung fu fanatic. The Grand Master holds a kung fu tournament to determine who the Dragon Warrior will be. He is the sole being able to read the Dragon Scroll that holds the key to unlimited powers.
Everyone thinks it will be one of the Furious Five, a tigress, a monkey (Jackie Chan), a mantis, a viper and a crane. But incredibly, Po is chosen to become the Dragon Warrior. Of course, he will have to go through very rigorous training.
Kung Fu Panda has comedy, spectacular animation, and an entertaining story.
It has three sequels, although Jackie Chan lends his voice only to the first two: Kung Fu Panda 2 Kung Fu Panda 3 Kung Fu Panda 4
