Netflix Cost in the UK

Whether you are addicted to binge-watching TV series or you are a film enthusiast, or even if you just want your nights to be relaxing and enjoyable, the creative industry of Netflix’s streaming service is the place for you.

Also, it is being made much more delightful by the sharing cost program of Together Price

What is Netflix?

Netflix

In spite of the fact that there are currently dozens of streaming services on the internet, with over 225 million subscribers worldwide, Netflix continues to take the lead as the most renowned streaming service to have ever been around.

It broadcasts an extremely wide variety of award-winning TV series, documentaries and films, plus anime and more…

Another key feature that Netflix implemented in its service, is the possibility to download TV shows and films to your iOS, Android or Windows 10 device and watch offline without the need of an internet connection.

The way this platform works is that the more a subscriber watches, the better Netflix’s algorithm gets at recommending things you might enjoy, removing the irritating process of deciding what to watch every time.

How much does Netflix cost?

Netflix updated prices reflect the investment trend of the moment

With a rapid increase in popularity, Netflix has adapted in order to suit everyone’s needs, offering its customers three different subscription plans:

  • The Basic Plan for £6.99 per month, which allows you to watch and download on one device at a time in Standard Definition;
  • The Standard Plan for £10.99 per month, giving the ability to you and another person with access to your account to simultaneously stream and download on two devices at the same time in HD viewing;
  • The Premium Plan for £15.99 per month, is the most expensive plan which offers the possibility to watch and download your favourite films and TV series on up to four devices at a time in High Definition and Ultra HD.

Netflix price increase

The competition between Netflix and other streaming services has led to price changes for its UK subscribers. In fact, there has been a price hike not once but twice over a period of 18 months which began in December 2020.

The cost of the Basic Plan has risen by £1 a month from its initial price; its Standard Package raised from £8.99 before the two rounds of price rises to the current £10.99.

But the most unbelievable price hike has occurred in Netflix’s Premium plan package, which increased by £4 from December 2020.

These changes have had an effect immediately on new subscribers but its existing members had been given a 30 days notice, depending on their billing cycle.

Netflix had mentioned that price increases were inevitable in order to deliver the impeccable service that we are all used to. In accordance with this, a Netflix spokesperson said: “We have always been focused on providing our members both quality and clear value for their membership,”.

Furthermore it does not do free trials anymore. Which is a pity because you can’t test the service first to see if it’s right for you.

Is Netflix worth the money?

Netflix UK films

Whether Netflix is worth the money is quite subjective. If you can afford to pay for Netflix - even if it’s the basic package - then you should definitely try it out as it is one of the main sources of entertainment. You will be able to find plenty of enjoyable films and TV shows to watch. It has a library filled with titles, from the new ones to award-winning, to the classic oldies.  Plus, if you find yourself not using it that much, you can always unsubscribe whenever you wish.

Can I share my Netflix account with family in a different home?

It is technically against the terms and conditions of the service, but it became more and more common and Netflix does not seem to oppose it. Regardless, since there is the option of creating multiple accounts then it is obviously not limited to single-person usage. It is, however, advisable to share within your household or family circle.

Sharing Netflix outside your household is going to be tested in Chile, Peru and Costa Rica

The streaming service is working on ways to enable members who share outside their household to do so easily and securely, with the only condition of paying just a little bit more. Two new features are being tested in Chile, Costa Rica and Peru:

  • Add an Extra Member: Existing subscribers on Standard and Premium plans will be able to add accounts for up to two people they don’t live with.
  • Transfer Profile to a New Account: Members on Basic, Standard, and Premium plans can enable people who share their account to transfer profile information either to a new account or an Extra Member account.

How to save on Netflix

Since the price rise, subscribers have been looking for ways to save some money. Solutions can be as easy as considering a cheaper plan or sharing Netflix with others. The most effortless way to save on Netflix is to split the cost between the members of your household. If your circumstances allow it, it is the easiest and most stress-free approach to sparing some money.

Have you ever thought of sharing your Netflix subscription cost?

If you still have not thought of sharing your Netflix subscription cost, then you should start doing it!

There are no negative aspects or disadvantages in this situation. You will continue to have your own account, with your own history and your own favourite films and shows, for less than the original price.

Obviously, the one thing I would advise you to do is to share it with someone you personally know, only for security sakes. But other than that, it can only be a plus.
