How much does Netflix cost?
With a rapid increase in popularity, Netflix has adapted in order to suit everyone’s needs, offering its customers three different subscription plans:
- The Basic Plan for £6.99 per month, which allows you to watch and download on one device at a time in Standard Definition;
- The Standard Plan for £10.99 per month, giving the ability to you and another person with access to your account to simultaneously stream and download on two devices at the same time in HD viewing;
- The Premium Plan for £15.99 per month, is the most expensive plan which offers the possibility to watch and download your favourite films and TV series on up to four devices at a time in High Definition and Ultra HD.
Netflix price increase
The competition between Netflix and other streaming services has led to price changes for its UK subscribers. In fact, there has been a price hike not once but twice over a period of 18 months which began in December 2020.
The cost of the Basic Plan has risen by £1 a month from its initial price; its Standard Package raised from £8.99 before the two rounds of price rises to the current £10.99.
But the most unbelievable price hike has occurred in Netflix’s Premium plan package, which increased by £4 from December 2020.
These changes have had an effect immediately on new subscribers but its existing members had been given a 30 days notice, depending on their billing cycle.
