About Crunchyroll

Crunchyroll is an American site where you can find all your favourite anime, manga, dorama, music and video games in streaming. You can find all the most popular titles available on streaming at the moment, often simultaneously with Japan.

You can have the option to use Crunchyroll for free, without signing up for a subscription, but programming is limited to fewer titles, and you have to put up with annoying adverts.

It is, therefore, advisable to subscribe to Crunchyroll Mega Fan for the complete package of advantages included in this subscription option.

Romance Anime:

Romance anime are all about sweet usually first love stories. They are mainly set in high-school or college life environments and start as a friend-relationship to then develop, as time goes by, into a school romance. But what they all have in common is that to watch romance anime like these leaves you a heart-warming sensation.

Our Favourite Romance Anime:

There are so many romance anime out there that making a choice was particularly difficult. We narrowed it down to the ones available to stream on Crunchyroll. Still, the number was very high. So, we just went with our favourite ones to watch.

We hope you will love to watch them too!

My Love Story (Ore Monogatari)

My Love Story is a romantic comedy about Takeo Goda – an unusual high school boy who falls in love with Rinko Yamato, a beautiful girl who has never noticed him before he saves her.

This anime follows their relationship as they try to figure out how to be together despite being so different from each other in personality, interest and appearance.

Kaguya-sama: Love is War (Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai)

In this anime, two students from an elite academy, Miyuki Shirogane top student and student council president, and vice president Kaguya Shinomiya, are in love with each other, but there’s just one problem: neither of them will confess their feelings to the other first.

They, therefore, decide to use manipulation tactics and psychological warfare on one another until the other person gives up!

It’s a battle to see who can outwit whom – or perhaps they’re both just too stubborn for their own good.

Your Lie in April (Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso)

Your Lie in April is an anime about Kousei Arima, a piano prodigy who lost his ability to hear himself play after the death of his mother. He meets Kaori Miyazono, a violinist with an unusual style that inspires him to pick up the instrument again. Together, they try to find their way out of loneliness while also dealing with Kaori’s health issues and Kousei’s lack of self-confidence.

This is one of my personal all-time favorite romance anime to watch. It’s not like other romance anime.

A Silent Voice (Koe no Katachi)

Shoya Ishida is a bully who picks on a newly admitted student, who is also a deaf girl named Shoko Nishimiya, just because she’s different from everyone else. But when their classmates start turning against him and treating him like an outcast, he feels the whole weight of his guilt and tries to apologize to Shoko by giving her a gift at school – which only makes things worse!

So now, both boy and girl must learn how to reconcile with each other while dealing with their own past traumas.

That Day When the Starry Sky Glows (Hoshizora e Kakaru Hashi)

This anime follows Kazuma Hoshino and his brother Ayumu. Because Ayumu has asthma, the family moves from the city to the countryside to start a new life, and where the two boys will make new friends with other local students. Their romances and adventures are narrated in this anime.

Kimagure Orange Road (Kimagure Orenji Rōdo)

This anime is the story of a boy with special powers who falls in love with a high school friend but is too shy to tell her and ends up dating her best friend. The girl also is in love with him back, but cannot express her feelings because she doesn’t want to hurt her best friend.

The classic love triangle story!

The Ancient Magus’ Bride (Mahoutsukai no Yome)

This unusual love story follows Chise Hatori, a young orphan girl who sells herself into slavery at an auction in England, in order to find another family that will warmly take her in. She is bought by Elias Ainsworth – an ancient humanoid mage with an animal head, who offers to take care of her and teach her magic if she agrees to become his apprentice. Together they begin travelling around England while also helping people in need.

A Japanese sort of Beauty and the Beast.

Say “I Love You” (Yǒnggǎn Shuōchū Wǒ ài Nǐ)

This is both a romance and comedy anime series about a girl who doesn’t believe in friendship due to a childhood incident that led to disappointment and betrayal. One day she meets a popular boy and doesn’t hit it off well with him at the beginning. But his curiosity turned affection slowly draws her in, helping her monochrome world from a different perspective.

Tsuredure Children (Tsurezure Chirudoren)

It’s the story of various students all somehow connected to each other through friendship that find it very arduous and sometimes crippling to say “I love you” to the boy or girl they have sweet feelings for, especially in the high-school age span.

Toradora! (Toradora!)

Toradora is a shōnen romantic comedy anime series based on a visual novel of the same name by the Japanese developer Palm.

The story revolves around a boy named Ryuuji Takasu, a second-year student, who has a crush on a fellow high school student, Minori Kushieda. At the same time, Taiga has a crush on another girl, Yusaku, who is best friends with Ryuuji. How will they all get about expressing their feelings? Toradora is a great anime to watch if you’re looking for a short, light-hearted romance anime.

Golden Time (Gōruden Taimu)

Golden Time is a romance anime about Banri Tada a young freshman at a private law school in Tokyo. Due to an accident after high school, he has completely lost his memory. But, at the moment of his accident, Banri’s spirit escapes his body and becomes a separate entity that carries all his memories.

On his way to freshman orientation, Banri makes friends with Mitsuo Yanagisawa, and shortly afterwards with his beautiful friend Kōko Kaga. Kōko is obsessively in love with Mitsuo and secretly enrolled at the same college to be near him, although he has repeatedly rejected her. So, she becomes a close friend of Banri to keep seeing Mitsuo.

But this friendship leads the two to fall in love and become the perfect couple. But just as things between the two of them seem to be going well, a girl named Linda comes back into Banri’s life from his past. Banri was in love with her before his accident.

In the end, the spirit of Banri will help Banri decide what road to take.

My Little Monster (Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun)

My Little Monster is an anime about Shizuku Mizutani, a high school girl firmly focused on her studies and with a cold temperament and Haru Yoshida, she sits next to at school. Their feelings for each other will develop in this very romantic anime.
