The Storyline

Monster Anime was initially available as a manga series but was then turned into anime form and back into an anime series. The complete series has five seasons.

Dr Kenzo Tenma is a renowned and successful Japanese surgeon living in Germany. One day while prepping to perform surgery on a young boy, the director of the hospital tells him to operate on a famous celebrity instead. The operation is a success, but Dr Tenma finds out that the patient he was supposed to operate on has died. This will lead to a profound crisis of conscience in the doctor.

When a very similar situation arises, Dr Tenma does not obey orders and continues to operate on a boy, Johan Liebert, with a gunshot wound to the head, instead of on the Mayor, who has arrived at the hospital later. The boy is saved, but the Mayor dies. Because of this, Dr Tenma loses his prestige and position. Strangely, the hospital director and all the doctors in the way of Tenma regaining his position are murdered. Of course, Dr Tenma is the number one suspect. But the authorities have no proof of his involvement in the murders.

Nine years have passed, and Dr Kenzo Tenma is chief of surgery at Eisler Memorial. He operates and saves the life of a criminal, Adolf Junkers. In his postoperative delirium, Junkers talks about a Monster.

When Tenma returns to his patient, he finds the police officer on duty dead and the patient gone.

At this point, a series of events unexpectedly brings Dr Tenma to face the ghosts of his past and a serial killer.

What lengths is he ready to go to right the wrongs he committed years before?

Where to Watch Monster Anime online?

If this psychological thriller sounds like an anime series you want to watch as non-Japanese viewers, it’s time to find a streaming service that offers the series online with English dub and English audio or English subtitles. But where to watch Monster anime legally? Or is it only available on unofficial services?

Monster anime is available on many streaming services. You can stream Monster anime legally on Netflix with subtitles. Monster Anime is available to Amazon Prime members in the US. You can also watch Monster on YouTube with English subtitles, but the complete anime series is not available.

Because Viz Media primarily produces for the North American market, the series is not available in other Netflix regions as they are not a licensed distributor in other regions. Viz Media first distributed 15 episodes, but now viewers may watch the entire series on Netflix.

How to Stream Monster on Netflix?

Streaming Monster on Netflix is possible in North America or Japan. Because of licensing rights, Monster is currently unavailable on Netflix worldwide.

However, in breaking news, this is about to change. Netflix recently struck a deal with Nippon Television to license 13 of its shows on Netflix worldwide. This includes Monster Anime and other anime series such as Death Note and Hunter x Hunter and is a huge step for subtitled and the English audio version of many anime.

Currently, only Hunter x Hunter has a release date for the Netflix streaming service, but the others will be available on Netflix worldwide in a matter of time.

For now, there are other options to watch Monster Anime with your Netflix subscription.

Netflix Regions

To watch Monster on Netflix, you must reside in the right Netflix region.

You will have no issues streaming it online if you are currently in these regions.

If you are not in these regions, you can use a VPN to change your current location to North America and enjoy streaming this series, as it is currently only available on Netflix in North America.

VPN Services

Netflix has gone down hard on VPN service providers, making it difficult to unblock their content.

VPNs are not 100% reliable in their ability to unblock Netflix, but it is the only current workaround.

We tested many VPN providers and found NordVPN to be the most consistent. You can use NordVPN & set North America as your location to watch the anime Monster.

Watch Monster Anime Legally on Amazon Prime Video

If you have Amazon Prime or Amazon Prime Video, then you are in luck. Amazon Prime Video media distributes Monster anime, so you can start streaming Monster anime legally using your Amazon Prime account.

Originally Amazon Prime offered Monster Anime in a box set, but this did not do well, so now you can watch Monster anime through the streaming platform instead.

Watch Monster Anime on 4anime

If you are looking for where to watch Monster anime for free, then you could try 4anime. There are 75 episodes of Monster anime on this website, available to watch for free.

The website 4anime does not stream licensed media, so you can only watch videos that have been pirated. That means that you are watching Monster anime illegally if you use 4anime, and often this means that the video quality is lower.

Watch Monster Anime on Youtube

Many episodes of Monster anime are available on Youtube. These are, again, often pirated and can be found with English subtitles or dubs, but like many websites with pirated content, the quality is often much lower.

Watch Monster Anime in Blu-ray or DVD formats

If you live in a country where Monster anime was one of the local releases, you can still watch Monster anime on blu ray or DVD. Buy these on the Blu-ray website or other websites such as eBay and Amazon.

Is Monster Anime available on Crunchyroll, the Funimation channel or Hidive?

Sony Pictures Funimation and Crunchyroll are now combined forces after Sony pictures Funimation started merging Crunchyroll together.

Crunchyroll remains one of the few anime streaming sites where you cannot watch Monster Anime. This is unusual because Death Note and other shows from the same Television networks are available on Crunchyroll. There is, however, detailed information about Monster Anime on the Crunchyroll forum.
