Are you a huge fan of Anime and Manga? And you are looking for information on the cost of Crunchyroll? You are in the right place!
Below we will also tell you how you can pay less for a Crunchyroll Premium membership using Together Price to share your subscription costs and watch Crunchyroll as much as you want.
Are you ready? Here we go!
Crunchyroll is an American anime streaming service where you can find all your favourite anime, manga, dorama, music and video games. It has built a huge library of content, especially in the last decade of the Crunchyroll company history.
In fact, Crunchyroll’s library consists of over 30,000 episodes of shows and movies, including Crunchyroll’s original shows. This entire library could be available to you, completely ad-free, for a small monthly subscription cost.
You can find all the most popular titles available on streaming at the moment. These are often released almost simultaneously with Japan. You will also get your hands on the new releases of manga, anime movies, anime series and whatever is new in Crunchyroll’s library of content .
You can use the anime streaming service as free users without signing up for a subscription, but programming is limited to fewer titles, and you have to put up with annoying adverts.
So if you have a specific anime series, you want to watch, or you would rather go ad-free, it might be worth signing up for the paid plans. You can even access offline viewing with the paid plans.
Subscribe to Crunchyroll premium Mega Fan or Ultimate Fan for the complete package of advantages included in the premium subscription you choose.
Crunchyroll has 4 different subscription pricing plans.
The free subscription is generally the ideal option for casual viewers and those just starting to get into Japanese anime shows and movies. Subscribers on the free plan do not get access to the entire library.
It enables you to watch the most accessible material in standard definition (480p).
This subscription is ad-supported, which means that you will see adverts during your viewing of anime and even while you are reading manga. It does not include offline viewing.
This subscription costs $7.99 a month and includes a 14-day free trial.
In addition to removing all ads and being entirely ad-free, the Crunchyroll Fan membership gives you more features and access to the entire library of anime, manga, and dorama. This includes simulcasts which allow you to view or read new material just one hour after it airs in Japan. You can stream on only one device, though.
The quality of the watching experience has also been improved. With Crunchyroll Fan, you can watch your favourite shows in 720p or 1080p.
The monthly cost of this subscription is $9.99 a month, including a 14-day free trial.
The plan includes all the options of the Crunchyroll Fan tier, and it enables you to stream on four devices with concurrent streams instead of just one. With this subscription, you also receive access to offline viewing and a $15 discount off any $100 purchase from the Crunchyroll store. And full access to simulcast shows and movies.
For real anime lovers, you have the Ultimate Fan tier. This subscription costs a little more money at $14.99 a month, and it contains everything in the Mega Fan plan, like offline viewing and ad-free anime streaming. You can also stream on 6 devices simultaneously, and you get some items from the Crunchyroll store.
There are many other services and streaming sites that show anime, but the Crunchyroll streaming service and Funimation stand out with their huge anime libraries and manga selection for fans to enjoy. Netflix also has a small anime library.
Funimation offers a number of plans to access their service. Subscribers can choose between a Premium plan at $7.99 a month ($79.99 a year), and a Premium Plus plan at $7.99 per month ($99.99 a year). Each of the monthly plans comes with a two-week free trial, much like the Crunchyroll plans.
Whilst Crunchyroll allows concurrent streams on one device for its cheapest plan, Funimation offers simultaneous streams on up to two screens, unless you pay yearly for the Premium Plus Ultra plan, which will let up to five users stream on the service at once.
On the plus side, Funimation can boast its high-quality English language dubs while also providing only subtitled episodes.
But, if you like to watch your anime in their original Japanese voices with English subtitles, then subscribe to Crunchyroll.
Both enable you to view a limited number of episodes for free and allow you to watch offline.
Crunchyroll users know that it has a substantially larger anime collection with over 1100 titles than Funimation’s 750+ titles.
Funimation has stricter parental controls, which block mature content for the younger fans. Crunchyroll filters mature content from searches but do not fully block it.
Now whichever you think is the best streaming service depends on you. The only reason Crunchyroll is more sought out is because of its vast library.
Well, what do you know? Now you don’t even have to choose between Crunchyroll and Funimation anymore.
Funimation has unified into Crunchyroll to form such a robust library of content that even Netflix, which is looking to expand into the anime market, can’t compete, let alone YouTube’s Cartoon Hangover channel.
But more news will definitely come soon! So, keep an eye out on our Together Price blog.
The Crunchyroll Free and Fan plans only allow you to stream on one device at a time, while Crunchyroll Mega Fan allows streaming on four different devices and the Ultimate Fan on six devices.
Crunchyroll Mega Fan allows you to download your favourite episodes so you can watch them offline as well. Get offline viewing on the Crunchyroll app, which you can find in the app store for your device.
Even if there are differences between both streaming services - price, language options, quality, library availability, etc., the bottom line is that you choose whichever suits your needs and requirements in the most satisfactory way.
It obviously depends on how much you use the service. If you watch a lot of anime very often, paying to get rid of the adverts is a must. If, however, you watch these series only now and again and don’t keep up with every episode as they come out, then there’s probably no need to get the ad-free version.
Another option worth taking into account that we haven’t yet mentioned is the possibility of subscribing for a month or so and then cancelling the subscription. There are no repercussions if you choose to do so. You can cancel the service for free whenever you want.
This is particularly helpful if you’re a binge-watcher who prefers to wait until a complete season is out before binging the programs you’re interested in all at once, without having to worry about keeping up with the current season. If you aren’t satisfied, simply cancel before the next payment.
Or you can split the cost of your Crunchyroll Mega and Ultimate subscription that allows you to have, respectively, four and six simultaneous viewings.
In that case, Crunchyroll Mega Fan, for example, would cost $2.49 a month instead of $9.99. And Crunchyroll Ultimate fan would cost $2,49 instead of $14.99!
Multiply those savings by 12 months. Not bad, right?
