A price hike on Disney Plus again?
Disney Plus has raised the price of its streaming service for those living in the US in 2023 by changing it’s only tier to Disney Plus Basic and adding the Disney Plus Premium tier.
The Disney Plus price on the Bundles has also been hiked.

Here is the complete detail of how much a subscription costs to get access to all your Disney favourites, including the Marvel Series, National Geographic, Star Wars and more.
Disney Plus Basic with ads costs $7.99 per month.
Disney Plus Premium (no ads) costs $13.99 a month or $139.99 a year.
Don’t forget if you don’t like their services; you can cancel anytime. This costs nothing. You will keep access to your account until the end of the billing cycle, at which point you will no longer be able to access the paid version of Disney Plus.
If you bought one of the US bundle memberships, the Disney Bundle, with Disney Plus, Hulu, and ESPN Plus, you would have noticed an increase in prices there too. The cost ranges from $9.99 per month for Duo Basic with ads, to $24.99 per month for Trio Premium, the no-ads version.
This is still a great deal given how much content you can watch on all three platforms.
Disney Plus Gift Card also increased in price, matching the new yearly subscription costs.
Are Disney Plus going to raise their prices again in the future?
Whilst nothing is set in stone, it seems unlikely that Disney Plus will raise its prices again soon for new subscribers.
Although CEO of Disney, Bob Chapek, announced that Disney is feeling quite “bullish” about price raises - suggesting that as they invest more into the content available to Disney Plus, they are able to raise the amount of the monthly price and the annual plan.
But after the 2023 hike there is no other forseeable increase for quite some time now.
That said, Disney has launched the new ad-supported plan. The ad-supported version of Disney Plus, called the Basic plan, will be cheaper than the ad-free version and will supposedly only run four minutes of ads per hour of content.
That is far less than its other competitors, including the Disney-owned ad-supported Hulu plan.
The Basic ad-supported plan is set to launch in the US on December 8th 2023. The proposed prices for the new plans are already announced on the Walt Disney website and are as follows:
Disney Plus Basic (the ad-supported tier) will cost $7.99 per month and will not be available to pay for annually.
The Disney Plus Premium plan (without ads) will cost $13.99 per month and $139.99 annually.
They will also offer new bundle plans, with more of a chance to pick and choose what is in the bundles. These will be:
Disney Plus and Hulu Duo Basic bundle all with ads will cost $9.99 per month.
The Duo Premium bundle, Disney Plus (no ads) and Hulu (no ads) costs $19.99 a month.
Disney Plus, ESPN Plus and Hulu Trio Basic bundle all with ads will cost $14.99 per month.
The Trio Premium bundle, Dsiney Plus (no ads), ESPN Plus (with ads) and Hulu (no ads) will cost $24.99 per month.
The Legacy prices will only be available for existing customers so long as they don’t change their plan, and these will let you stay on the Premium, ad-free plans for a little cheaper.
Does Disney Plus have a free trial?
Disney Plus used to have a seven-day free trial, but it doesn’t anymore. This is not quite as exciting as the free month’s trial available on other streaming platforms like Amazon Prime Video.
Verizon customers can get a free trial that includes Disney Plus on their Unlimited plans. If you are not on Verizon Unlimited plans, you could upgrade or try saving on Disney Plus in a different way!
But nonetheless, there is a way to save up to 75% on your Disney Plus subscription even if there’s no free trial anymore.
